If you have a passion for animals and are looking to make a difference, Whispering Acres Tails and Treasures (WA) needs your help!
We have various volunteer opportunities available, including:

  • Animal Companions: holding, walking, singing and socializing the WA animals, including the babies.

  • Building enclosure enrichment toys

  • Keeping the animals safe and healthy; cleaning and maintaining the enclosures.

  • Grooming and in-hand exercise with the horses.

  • Landscaping and grounds maintenance.

  • Assisting with administration duties.

  • Assisting our operation and program teams.

  • Representing WA during community and special events.

We are dependent upon and very grateful to our volunteers who generously give of their time. Our volunteers are united by their passion for animals and horses. DO YOU LOVE ANIMALS? Make A Difference…

  • Volunteers support the Whispering Acres mission by performing chores around the barn, helping to care for the animals and horses and maintaining the facility.

    Help is needed and appreciated at all skill levels. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age, physically able to do light lifting and walk on uneven sand/dirt/rock surfaces, able to be outdoors (usually in the sun and heat) for several hours and willing to get dirty.

    Children ages 10-12 are also welcome to volunteer provided a parent or guardian volunteers with them.

  • Not physically able to help at the farm but still want to help with the animals and horses? Don't have time to commit to a regular volunteer schedule? Whispering Acres participates in many local community event, fundraising and holiday events at the farm. Whether we have an information table, host a birthday party or have a big event, we need your help.

  • Are you great with social media? Graphic design? Website management? Grant Writing? Organization? Carpentry? Electrical or Plumbing? Landscaping? We need help in all of those areas as well.

  • We welcome the opportunity to work with local businesses to plan an employee volunteer day. We also love to work with civic groups, such as girl or boy scouts, 4-H clubs or school organizations! Whether it is facilities and ground maintenance, painting, clearing of the pasture, cleaning tack or organizing, your group can make a big difference!

Volunteer VIP Program

We value our volunteers and acknowledge that without them, we wouldn't be able to accomplish everything that we do! This is why the Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) is so important to us.

Our volunteers can earn Barn Bucks that can be used at the Whispering Acres Holiday Shop or be used to purchase a gift card of their choice. We will also hold a Volunteer Awards Banquet every year in April during Volunteer Appreciation Month to recognize the hard work of our volunteers!
